MISSION:
To obtain
short term relief for families to sustain them selves for a
period of six months by providing essential funding just sufficient
to purchase food for a family of up to five individuals for
approximately a month. |
GOAL :
To provide short term relief 3000 families for six months.

COST:
$10/family/month for six month ($60/family total) |
BENEFITS:
All donations are tax deductible under IRS code 501(c).

SCOPE
To provide life saving relief to the victims by finding sponsors
willing to support a family for a minimum period of six month.
This time period will enable the victims to find employment
and begin to support them selves.

METHOD:
Sri Lanka Fund has joined hands with MyMoneyPlus a Los Angeles
based international Debit Card and Money Transfer Company to
distribute debit cards to the most needy victims through a unique
program created especially for helping victims in Sri Lanka.
The program is set up that the sponsor will have the primary
debit card and the secondary card will be given to the victims’
family. This allows the sponsor to track the corresponding secondary
card distribution of relief funds to the victims’ family
for the six-month period. These debit cards can be used at any
Plus or Star system network currently freely available in Sri
Lanka. The sponsor will be required to donate the total relief
donation, which would be distributed monthly to the victims’
families by the Sri Lanka Fund . We kindly ask that you sponsor
in units of ten families per month for a six-month period ($600
total) for ease of administration and logistical tracking.

INFORMATION
Each sponsor will be given the name of the victims family, address, number
of family members, number of members lost due to the tsunami and other
pertinent information
